       A resident of the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod became a victim of internet fraudsters while trying to buy orchids at a good price. The woman corresponded with the "seller" on social media for several months, and after transferring the money, she was left without the goods and any contact with her interlocutor. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

       According to the police, the 43-year-old Nizhny Novgorod woman found an advertisement for the sale of flowers back in December 2025. In early March, the parties agreed on the purchase, and the woman transferred more than 62,000 rubles to the specified account. However, she never received the promised delivery: after a few weeks, the "seller" stopped responding to messages.

       Realizing that she had become a victim of deception, the victim contacted the police. A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Fraud." Law enforcement is currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds: when making online purchases, it is important to check sellers and avoid full prepayment. Do not transfer money through suspicious links and do not share personal data and bank details with strangers.
