The heads of two road enterprises in Nizhny Novgorod have been accused of bribery.

The investigation also established that in 2025, the director of "RED" illegally used budget funds under a concluded contract and did not decide to terminate it, despite the supplied products not meeting the established requirements. Furthermore, in 2026, according to the investigation, as a result of the accused's illegal actions, payment to the municipal institution for access to the landfill territory was not made. This led to damages in the form of lost profits amounting to more than 2.4 million rubles. The illegal activities of the individuals involved were uncovered by employees of the FSB of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Main Directorate for Economic Security and Corruption Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the prosecutor's office in cooperation with the investigators of the Investigative Committee. A measure of restraint in the form of house arrest has been chosen for the accused. Criminal cases are also being investigated against the alleged bribe giver and intermediary. Investigative actions and operational-search activities are ongoing. They are aimed at collecting and securing evidence, as well as identifying possible additional episodes of criminal activity.
