Rospotrebnadzor: Norovirus detected in sick residents of Uren.

      April 8, 2026 20:30 Society The Rospotrebnadzor has established the cause of the outbreak of intestinal infection in the Uren district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the agency, norovirus has been detected in the affected residents.

      It was previously reported that more than 50 people sought medical assistance, and six were hospitalized. Due to the spread of the infection, schools and kindergartens have switched to remote learning. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the investigation is under the control of the Investigative Committee.

      Currently, vaccination against hepatitis A is being conducted in the city of Uren based on epidemic indications.

      The supervisory agency has also published recommendations for residents to minimize further spread of the infection. In particular, citizens are advised not to use water from unknown sources for household purposes, to consume only boiled or bottled water, and to boil it if there are doubts about its quality.

      Additionally, special attention should be paid to personal hygiene: thoroughly wash hands after using the toilet and before eating, as well as use antiseptic agents.

      At the first symptoms of intestinal infection, specialists urge individuals to seek medical assistance immediately.
