The rehabilitation department has been updated at the Dzerzhinsk Polyclinic No. 1.

On April 7, 2026, at 16:50, Society: The medical rehabilitation department has begun operations at Polyclinic No. 1 of City Hospital No. 2 in Dzerzhinsk after a large-scale modernization. The upgrade was carried out under the program "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Recovery" of the national project "Long and Active Life," the press service of the regional government reported.

More than 11 million rubles from the federal budget were allocated for the renovation of the premises and equipping the department with modern equipment. Now, residents of Dzerzhinsk can undergo rehabilitation in conditions that meet current standards without leaving the city.

The chief physician of the hospital, Dmitry Kochetygov, emphasized that the modernization has become an important step in the development of outpatient services and is aimed at helping patients return to a full life more quickly. According to him, the tools obtained allow for the rapid return of people to work and active activities, which is a direct investment in the health and longevity of Dzerzhinsk residents.

The department is equipped with equipment designed to work with complex pathologies of the musculoskeletal and peripheral nervous systems. It allows for a personalized approach and is expected to reduce rehabilitation times by 1.5 to 2 times.

As noted by the deputy chief physician for outpatient work, Irina Chernyatina, the new equipment will help accelerate recovery after injuries and surgeries, as well as for spinal diseases, neurological disorders, arthritis, and arthrosis.

Particular attention during the modernization was given to the magnetotherapy room. It has been equipped with expert-class equipment for comprehensive effects on the body: reducing swelling, improving blood microcirculation in affected tissues, reducing medication load, and stimulating natural cell recovery processes. High-tech rehabilitation methods will allow patients to restore fine motor skills, regain a confident gait, and eliminate chronic discomfort.

The modernization of medical infrastructure—construction and renovation of institutions, updating equipment—remains one of the priorities of the people's program of the "United Russia" party.

"For the past few years, active modernization of the primary healthcare sector has been underway in the region, with new rural health posts being opened. We pay serious attention to this issue within the framework of the expert council on healthcare at the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," noted the chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Evgeny Lyulin (United Russia).

In particular, in 2026, at the initiative of the council, it was possible to secure federal subsidies for the treatment of patients with orphan diseases for the regions, as well as opportunities for families planning IVF procedures to undergo expensive examinations for free under the compulsory medical insurance policy.

The national project "Long and Active Life" has been implemented in Russia since 2025 at the request of President Vladimir Putin. It includes 11 federal projects, including "Fighting Cancer," "Improving Emergency Medical Care," "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Recovery," and others.

It was previously reported that in 2027, the fifth regional vascular center will start operating based on the Dzerzhinsk Emergency Medical Hospital.
