Spring draft 2026: who will be called up and where they will be sent in the Nizhny Novgorod region

      On April 7, 2026, at 16:33 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, it is planned to send about 2,700 people to military service locations as part of the spring draft, of which nearly 500 are residents of the regional center. The first dispatch of conscripts is scheduled for the first decade of April 2026, the regional military enlistment office reported.

      The military commissioner of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Colonel Sergey Agafonov, reminded that the conscription of Russian citizens aged 18 to 30, according to the presidential decree of December 29, 2025, is carried out throughout the year — from January 1 to December 31. At the same time, the deadlines for sending to the place of service remain the same: from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31.

      He also emphasized that conscripted servicemen will not be sent to the area of the special military operation and other "hot spots." Draftees will be distributed across all types and branches of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as to other military formations and agencies, including the border troops of the FSB of Russia.

      More than a thousand residents of the region will be sent to serve in elite military units. In particular, about 20 people will be sent to the Presidential Regiment of the Federal Protective Service, over 100 to the Preobrazhensky and Semyonovsky regiments, and about 200 to the airborne troops. More than 200 draftees will serve in the National Guard of Russia, and another 15 people will be in scientific companies.

      During the draft period, a direct phone line is available at the military enlistment office of the Nizhny Novgorod region at (831) 419-79-14. Calls are accepted on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

      For questions regarding the draft, it is recommended to contact the military enlistment offices at the place of residence.

      It should be noted that starting in 2026, the fine for failing to notify the military enlistment office about a move has increased to 20,000 rubles. The procedure for medical examinations of draftees has also changed in Russia.
