      On April 7, 2026, 15:40 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, more than 21 thousand square meters of flowerbeds will be planted in 2026, reported the city head Yuri Shalabaev on social media. According to the mayor, contractors will purchase plants adapted to the conditions of a large city and resistant to the effects of the urban environment. The streets will be adorned with petunias, begonias, ageratum, amaranth, tagetes, and coleus. Tulips planted last year and other types of plants that thrive well in an industrial metropolis will also bloom in the city. According to Shalabaev, there are also plans to expand container gardening. In the streets of Sovetskaya and Kozhevennaya, annual plants will be added to the already planted shrubs. Contracting organizations for the design of flowerbeds have already been selected. The purchase of planting material from specialized nurseries will begin soon. "The first flower compositions will appear for our great holiday – Victory Day," added Yuri Shalabaev.
