The esports tournament was held for Nizhny Novgorod veterans of the SVO.

      On April 6, 2026, at 17:09, Society The "World of Tanks" (18+) esports tournament for veterans of the Special Military Operation took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported on social media by the chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma, Evgeny Chintsov.

      According to him, the event was organized by enthusiasts of the voluntary sports society "Zarya." Participants of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program also took part.

      Evgeny Chintsov emphasized the significant importance of the tournament for the rehabilitation of veterans of the Special Military Operation. He noted that today esports is already a full-fledged sport with excitement, bright emotions, team interaction, and discipline.

      "Such competitions become not only a platform for communication and self-realization but also an important part of rehabilitation, recovery, and returning to an active life for our heroes," he wrote.

      Chintsov also mentioned that he tried his hand at esports for the first time. According to him, it turned out to be quite challenging: full concentration, quick reaction, and serious preparation are necessary.

      Earlier, it was reported that at the end of March, the first Spartakiad for veterans of combat operations started in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It will last until the end of November.
