The safest place in an apartment, rescuers say, is the bathroom. Those who find themselves on the street are advised not to panic. Upon hearing the whistling of a shell, one should immediately lie down on the ground and cover their head with their hands. Then, one should seek shelter in the nearest building, underground passage, or parking garage. If there are no shelters nearby, it is recommended to use any depressions, ledges, or concrete structures and stay there until the shelling ends. If a person is in a car or public transport, they should stop, exit the vehicle, and crawl towards a more reliable shelter — for example, the entrance of a building, an underground passage, or a parking garage. After that, they should lie down on the ground and wait for the explosions to finish. After the shelling is over, rescuers do not recommend leaving the shelter immediately. It is important to watch your step, not touch unexploded ordnance or suspicious objects, and keep children close.
