In "Normanochka," the reasons for the scandalous match disruption on April 4 were explained.
On April 5, 2026, at 12:53, SportV commented on the disruption of the first semifinal match of the Russian Championship on April 4, calling the incident "extraordinary and outrageous."
The game with Laguna-UOR did not take place due to the absence of an ambulance on the site. As a result, the Nizhny Novgorod team, which had previously won the regular championship, received a technical defeat. According to the club, the ambulance was delayed by more than the allowable time set by regulations — 1 hour and 4 minutes instead of 1 hour and 1 minute.
Normanochka emphasized that similar situations with delays or temporary absence of a medical vehicle occur in the practice of the Russian Football Union, but the disruption of a match for this reason is an exception.
According to the club, the ambulance crew assigned to the game witnessed a traffic accident on the way and stopped to assist the victims, notifying the dispatcher about this. However, it is claimed that a reserve vehicle was not dispatched. The situation was further aggravated by the actions of responsible staff who did not monitor the arrival of the vehicle in advance and received information about its absence only before the end of the regulated waiting time.
Attempts to resolve the issue quickly were unsuccessful: the reserve crew, according to the contractor, was supposed to arrive "any minute," but this did not happen. Calling alternative services also did not allow for compliance with the established regulations. As a result, a third vehicle arrived at the site a few minutes after the announcement of the game's cancellation.
Following the incident, the club suspended the employee who allowed the negligence from work and announced its intention to hold the management accountable and file a lawsuit against the contractor for compensation for damages. The president of the PCMF "Torpedo," Nikolai Khodov, took responsibility for the technical defeat.
In the best-of-three series, the advantage of the home court has now shifted to the opponent. The club called on fans to support the team in the next home match to equalize the score and move the series to Penza. The game (6+) will take place on April 5 at 15:00.
The situation was also commented on by the Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabailo. He stated that there were questions both for the contractor, who did not provide a reserve vehicle, and for the club's administration.
"I apologize to all the fans of Normanochka!" the official wrote on his MAX channel.
