      April 5, 2026 17:37 Incidents A 16-year-old girl from Nizhny Novgorod gave fraudsters more than half a million of her parents' savings, the regional police department reported. A fake law enforcement officer wrote to the daughter of a 43-year-old resident of the Prioksky district in a messenger and convinced her to declare her parents' money. The schoolgirl believed the stranger and handed a package containing foreign currency to a "courier" totaling 540,000 rubles (2,000 dollars, 3,500 euros, and 5,000 yuan). After learning about the incident, the parents filed a report with the police. A criminal case is under investigation.
