The FSB uncovered a drug laboratory in the Nizhny Novgorod region — video

      April 3, 2026 18:00 Incidents Employees of the Nizhny Novgorod FSB disrupted the activities of a drug laboratory organized by two local residents. This was reported by the press service of the law enforcement agency. According to the agency, citizens of one of the neighboring countries equipped the laboratory in a private house in the Buturlin district and were engaged in the production of the synthetic drug alpha-PVP on a large scale. The finished products were distributed by the criminals through stash spots. During operational activities, law enforcement discovered and seized more than 20 kg of the drug directly in the house, as well as about 10 kg from an already prepared stash. The investigative department of the FSB initiated a criminal case against the suspects under part 5 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – "illegal production and sale of narcotic substances in especially large quantities." The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention. It is worth noting that in 2025, more than 4,000 drug-related crimes were committed in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
