      Businesses and business associations from the Nizhny Novgorod region and India held their first meeting in a new format of a business lounge. The meeting was organized by the regional government at the House of the Nizhny Novgorod region in Moscow. The business lounge format involves meetings of the business community for joint discussions in an informal setting. The key task is to create a quality environment for the development of the business community. At such meetings, entrepreneurs present their projects, find partners, like-minded individuals, new clients, and mentors. The event was attended by representatives of the "Business Russia" association, "SPEK Investment" organizations, the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Alliance of Business Structures and Entrepreneurs of Southeast Asia (B2BASEAN), as well as Russian and Indian companies from various sectors. The moderator of the business program was the president of the Russian-Indian Friendship Society "DISH" Dr. Rameshwar Singh. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region Dmitry Starostin presented the industrial, technological, and investment potential of the region. "We decided to try a new format for the event, which combines the presentation of our region and the conduct of separate business negotiations. We are recording a high interest from Indian entrepreneurs who work in Moscow but at the same time consider the Nizhny Novgorod region an attractive platform for implementing new projects. We are talking about sectors such as medical equipment manufacturing, the agro-industrial complex, education, and high technologies. The format proved effective, so we plan to hold such meetings regularly with different countries," noted Dmitry Starostin. The General Director of "SPEK Investment" — one of the participating companies — Kirill Kosminsky noted that the Nizhny Novgorod region is among the leaders in investment attractiveness and is ready to offer project and trade financing tools for the implementation of joint initiatives. "The events organized by the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region are a very effective format for attracting the attention of the foreign business community to the region. When a subject openly talks about its potential, investment opportunities, and specific projects, it creates trust. For us, it is important to see that the region is ready not only to accept investments but also to create conditions for business expansion for both Russian and Indian companies," commented the Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Lavlish Taneja. During closed negotiations involving the leadership of Indian companies Meril and SRB Group, the central theme was cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals — areas that Dmitry Starostin called systemic for Russian-Indian relations. "The meeting was dedicated to mutual trade, localization, and export. For this, the necessary infrastructure has been created: a developed industrial base, specialized enterprises, and a strong scientific and educational complex. In particular, the Privolzhsky Research Medical University (PIMU), which is among the top 10 leading medical universities in Russia, has already joined the interaction process," emphasized Dmitry Starostin. In addition, during the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between the organizers of CIPR and the Alliance of Business Structures and Entrepreneurs of Southeast Asia. The document provides for the expansion of the presence of countries in the Asia-Pacific region at the digital forum, which will be held in Nizhny Novgorod in May 2026. It should be noted that the implementation of the export potential of domestic companies is one of the tasks of the national project "International Cooperation and Export," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
