The court extended the house arrest of former Deputy Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Egorov.
April 1, 2026 09:10 Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod District Court has extended the house arrest of the former first deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, Sergey Egorov. This was reported by the court.
The decision was made on March 31. The preventive measure has been extended until September 19, 2026, inclusive.
Egorov is accused under part 3 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — of receiving a bribe as a public official for illegal actions.
According to the investigation, from February to September 2025, while performing the duties of the first deputy mayor, he received 120,000 rubles through intermediaries from representatives of a commercial organization and an individual entrepreneur. Law enforcement agencies believe that for this reward, the official was supposed to assist in organizing parking activities on municipal land plots and not to stop illegal operations.
Sergey Egorov was detained on December 2, 2025, after which he left his position. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for him.
The investigation into the criminal case has been completed, and the materials have been submitted to the court.
In addition, a civil lawsuit is being considered against the former official. The prosecutor's office demands that his car, worth 6.3 million rubles, be confiscated for state revenue. According to the supervisory authority, the car was purchased in violation of anti-corruption legislation.
