March 31, 2026 19:30 Economy The results of the Nizhny Novgorod industry for 2025 and plans for 2026 were discussed at a meeting of the regional Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship at the "Ankudinovka" technopark. The meeting was chaired by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the "United Russia" party, Gleb Nikitin. About 300 representatives of enterprises participated in the event.
The discussion also included Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Ivan Kulikov, Director of the Industrial Development Fund Roman Petrutsa, Deputy Governor Yegor Polyakov, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the region Maxim Cherkasov, General Director of the regional association of employers "Nizhny Novgorod Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs" Alexander Anosov, representatives of business support infrastructure, and heads of industrial enterprises.
Gleb Nikitin noted that 2025 was financially challenging for many companies. According to statistics, compared to 2024, the profit of large and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing sectors decreased by 16.2%, while investments in production fell by 7.2%.
Despite these difficulties, the manufacturing industry maintained positive dynamics. The industrial production index was 100.9%, with processing at 101.1%. The volume of industrial production grew by almost 6% and approached 2.5 trillion rubles, of which 2.3 trillion rubles accounted for manufacturing sectors. In this regard, the region consistently ranks eighth in the country and second in the Volga Federal District.
The governor emphasized that nine sectors of the manufacturing industry increased physical output compared to 2024. In his opinion, under current conditions, it is necessary to more actively use existing support mechanisms to sustain enterprises.
Ivan Kulikov, in his welcoming speech, noted the active work of the region with federal structures to attract funding. According to him, within the framework of state programs implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, over three years, the volume of support for organizations in the Nizhny Novgorod region exceeded 174 billion rubles. More than 10 billion rubles from this amount were allocated for financing research and development work.
Maxim Cherkasov presented a report on the results of 2025 and plans for 2026. He reported that thanks to established cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, in 2025 the region attracted 78 billion rubles — one and a half times more than the previous year.
Additionally, the regional Industrial Development Fund ranked first in the country in terms of the volume of funds attracted from the federal fund. Overall, specialists ensured the attraction of about one-seventh of all funds directed at supporting investment projects in the industry in Russia.
The minister added that systematic work is underway in the region to implement national projects for technological leadership. By the end of 2025, the volume of attracted funding in this direction amounted to 7 billion rubles. The funds are directed towards the development of key sectors of the industry and the economy of the region.
According to him, one of the conditions for achieving technological independence remains increasing production efficiency. A total of 316 enterprises in the region participate in the federal project "Labor Productivity." At the same time, new technological directions are developing: within the national project "Unmanned Aerial Systems," a specialized scientific and production center has been created, and under the national project "Means of Production and Automation," the region received a federal grant of 295 million rubles for the creation of an Industrial Robotics Center.
Particular attention is paid to the development of cooperation within the region. Within the framework of the federal project "Small and Medium Enterprises," Supplier Days are held. As a result of last year, representatives of SMEs signed contracts with the largest enterprises in the region totaling over 300 million rubles.
In 2026, the ministry plans to continue working to attract state support tools for enterprises, including within the framework of national projects for technological leadership.
On the same day, an exhibition of artistic works titled "Industrial Art" opened at the "Ankudinovka" technopark. The project was initiated by gallerist Daria Sorokina and supported by the regional Ministry of Industry. Artists held plein airs at enterprises in the region, resulting in the creation of over 500 works. Thirty of them are presented in the technopark.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" will be the main tool for forming a new growth model. It includes federal projects aimed at developing small and medium enterprises, increasing labor productivity, boosting investment activity, low-carbon development, as well as developing the state system of statistics and forecasting. Work on creating conditions for easy startup and comfortable business operations will continue this year within the framework of the national project.
