      More than 1.5 million attempts to access phishing resources were blocked in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2025. This was reported to the "Living in Nizhny" portal by cybersecurity expert Andrey Sidenko from Kaspersky Lab.

      Phishing remains one of the key threats to personal data on the internet. Fraudsters create resources disguised as bank websites, online stores, etc. Messages with phishing links can arrive via email, messengers, and social networks.

      As Andrey Sidenko notes, personal information on the internet can be protected with complex and unique passwords, as well as two-factor authentication. "It is not advisable to download files from unknown sources or click on suspicious links. It is recommended to regularly update the operating system and applications, as well as carefully check website addresses before entering personal data. Additionally, one should connect to open Wi-Fi networks with caution," advises the cybersecurity expert.
