Nizhny Novgorod oncologist reminded men about the risk of breast cancer.

This was stated during an online conference by Sergey Gamayunov, the chief freelance oncologist of the regional health ministry and the chief physician of the Research Institute of Clinical Oncology and the Semashko Regional Clinical Oncology Hospital. "Men have a rudimentary breast gland, and various pathologies can arise in it, including the transformation of normal cells into tumor cells. Therefore, breast cancer in men does occur," the expert explained in response to a question asked. According to Gamayunov, such cases are rare in the Nizhny Novgorod region - a few cases per year. Breast cancer in men is treated according to the same rules as breast cancer in women. "At least, the treatment approaches are very similar," the oncologist noted.
