A new procedure for providing medical assistance to children has come into effect in Russia, as reported by the chief editor of MIA "Statsionar-Press," Alexey Nikонов, on his channel in MAX "Bokal presseka." The regulations have been updated for the first time since 2012. In the final version of the document, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has reduced the recommended staffing standards for children's clinics—"narrow" specialists such as nephrologists, allergists-immunologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, radiologists, and ultrasound doctors have been excluded. "This looks like a transition from 'step-by-step accessibility' of a doctor to a model of resource concentration. 'Narrow' specialists will accept patients at major consultative-diagnostic centers and children's hospitals. The clinic will be able to attract non-staff doctors through outsourcing by signing a contract with another medical institution where that doctor is available," explained Alexey Nikонов. At the same time, contact center operators, medical registrars, and administrators have been introduced into the staff of children's clinics. Earlier, it was reported that the Privolzhsky Research Medical University received a license from Rosobrnadzor to implement the program of secondary vocational education "Medical Optics."
