Millions will be directed towards updating the utility infrastructure in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

March 28, 2026 08:00 Economy At yesterday's meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, deputies made changes to the law on the regional budget for 2026 and the planned period of 2027 and 2028. The document, submitted to parliament by the governor, was adopted in two readings. A significant portion of the additional funds will be directed towards the modernization of communal infrastructure. Grants for municipalities for the construction, reconstruction, and major repairs of housing and communal services facilities have been increased by 70.44 million rubles, funded by the public law company "Territory Development Fund." The funds will be used for the construction of a water supply system in the Balakhna district, sewage networks in Buturlin, and the reconstruction of heating supply in Zavolzhye and Kulebaki. Speaker of the ZSNO Evgeny Lyulin emphasized that the adopted amendments reflect the social priorities of the region and are aimed at solving the pressing problems of residents. "We continue to support families that are gasifying their homes – we will allocate more than 45 million rubles for this purpose. The program has been extended to 2026 for all categories of recipients. We are also allocating funds for the resettlement of emergency houses on Ilyinskaya and Artelnaya streets in Nizhny Novgorod – this is over 90 million rubles. In addition, more than 76 million rubles will go towards updating the fleet of construction, road, and communal equipment in municipalities under favorable leasing conditions. This means that communal services will receive modern vehicles, allowing them to solve their current tasks more quickly and efficiently," noted Evgeny Lyulin. Reference: The main parameters of the regional budget for 2026, taking into account the changes made, will be: revenues: 336 billion 533.6 million rubles (increased by 72.9 million rubles); expenditures: 370 billion 25 million rubles (increased by 74 million rubles); deficit: -33 billion 491.4 million rubles (increased by 1 million rubles).
