Documentation for the repair of the damaged "Meteor" is being prepared in Sormovo.

      March 30, 2026 12:50 Society The contractor who will undertake the restoration of the "Meteor" monument in Burevestnik Square in Nizhny Novgorod has not yet been selected. This was reported to pravda-nn.ru by the administration of the Sormovsky district.

      Currently, specialists are preparing project and estimate documentation for the repair of the damaged object. After the documents are approved, an auction will be announced, the results of which will determine the contractor for the work.

      The monument is currently fenced off, and the structure is covered with a tarp. Nearby, there are notices prohibiting access to the site.

      Recall that the damage was discovered on the morning of March 3 — specialists recorded deformation in the upper part of the structure. The area was immediately cordoned off. At that time, the district administration reported that they were in contact with the Central Design Bureau for Hydrofoils named after R.E. Alekseev.

      Additionally, the "Meteor" was built in the 1960s. Every year, the district administration, together with the "Krasnoe Sormovo" plant, carried out ongoing maintenance work on the vessel's hull.
