An innovation center for builders has been opened in Nizhny Novgorod.

      March 27, 2026 18:01 Society An innovative training center for preparing personnel in the construction industry has opened at NNGASU in Nizhny Novgorod. The project was implemented in collaboration with the "Technonicol" corporation as part of the "Priority-2030" program of the national project "Youth and Children." The opening ceremony was attended by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin. He noted that NNGASU is one of the flagships of construction education and industry in the country, and the university's developments are of interest to businesses and university partners. The regional head emphasized that the participation of "Technonicol," which implements large construction and production projects in the region, enhances the practical focus of the center. Joint work will address the challenges of developing low-rise construction and creating modern affordable housing for Nizhny Novgorod families, including within the framework of demographic programs and support for participants of the Special Military Operation.

      The new facility combines the capabilities of higher education and the real sector. The center is aimed at both students and current professionals — builders, designers, and representatives of customer services. The president and managing partner of "Technonicol," Sergey Kolesnikov, stated that this is not just about a classroom, but a platform where education and business operate as a unified system. "Here, both students and practicing specialists are equally in demand: everyone will have access to modern technologies, real cases, and applied solutions," he noted, expressing confidence that the center will provide an additional impetus for training qualified personnel.

      The rector of NNGASU, Dmitry Shchegolev, called the project a strategic partnership that expands the possibilities of classical higher education. According to him, the university is transitioning to a practice-oriented model, and the center will serve as a platform for experience exchange and professional community qualification enhancement. The center plans to implement more than 30 educational programs. They will cover facade, roofing, and foundation systems, energy-efficient technologies, and modern construction materials. A separate direction is dedicated to the qualification enhancement of specialists, including project management, communication, and interaction with the customer. The infrastructure includes classrooms, practical workshops, and collaborative workspaces. This format implies continuous learning — from student preparation to regular professional development. It is expected that more than 1,000 people will be able to study here annually. The "Priority-2030" program, under which the center was created, aims to strengthen the contribution of Russian universities to achieving national development goals by 2030, enhance their scientific and educational potential, and participate in the socio-economic development of regions.
