      On March 27, Nizhny Novgorod veteran of the special military operation Alexander Kuritsyn received a diploma for completing the professional retraining program "Urban Infrastructure Management and Territorial Development" at MGIMO. Diplomas were awarded to graduates of the third stream by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" Anna Tsivileva. Over ten weeks, participants from 16 regions underwent training at the Odintsovo branch of MGIMO. The program included seven educational modules and aimed to prepare specialists in the field of state and municipal management, comprehensive urban development, digitalization, investments, project management, budgeting, public procurement, and ecology. According to Anna Tsivileva, more than 60 people completed the training. Graduates are expected to receive assistance in project implementation and employment. Alexander Kuritsyn represented the Nizhny Novgorod region in the program. Before participating in the special military operation, he worked as a sailor-motorist and served in the presidential regiment. He participated in the special military operation from 2022 to 2025, sustained three injuries, and was awarded the Suvorov Medal. The training included practical classes at infrastructure facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region, including Mosoblgaz, the Moscow Situational Center, the Neva waste processing complex, the Podolsk Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Vodokanal," the Svistyagino energy utilization plant, the Moscow Urban Economy Museum, and the Moscow Regional Duma. More than 20 teachers and experts conducted the classes. The fourth module of the program for 30 veterans of the special military operation is scheduled for June 2026. The State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" was established by the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The fund provides personal support to veterans of the special military operation and their families, assists with medical and social rehabilitation, retraining and employment, offers legal support, and ensures long-term home care. The fund's branches operate in all regions of Russia.
