      March 25, 2026 09:53 Economy To receive an insurance pension for old age in the amount of about 80,000 rubles, residents of Nizhny Novgorod need to earn at least 248,200 rubles per month and accumulate the maximum number of pension points over decades. This is reported by RBC Investments. The insurance pension for old age is assigned upon reaching the legally established age and having the required work experience. Its amount depends on the individual pension coefficient (IPC), that is, the number of accumulated points. The number of points, in turn, is directly related to the level of official salary. In 2026, the maximum that can be earned is 10 points. To earn these 10 points, one must earn no less than 248,250 rubles per month (this is related to the maximum base for calculating insurance contributions — 2,979,000 rubles per year). It is impossible to calculate the exact maximum amount of the insurance pension — many factors influence it. However, an approximate guideline can be determined. If a man started working at 20, finished his career at 65, and earned about 250,000 rubles per month for 45 years, he would accumulate the maximum ten points each year. In this case, the calculation looks like this: fixed payment of 9,584.69 rubles + 45 years of experience × 10 points × 156.76 rubles. In total, this amounts to 80,126.69 rubles. This amount can be considered the approximate maximum amount of the insurance pension for old age without taking into account additional supplements.
