The Russian Museum of Photography and the HSE campus signed an agreement.

      The Russian Museum of Photography and the Nizhny Novgorod campus of the Higher School of Economics have signed an agreement on long-term cooperation in the field of culture, education, and enlightenment. The first joint project is a series of lectures titled "ProManifestation. A Lecture Series on Photography in Literature" by university professors at the museum's venue. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The main areas of cooperation will include the development of student research activities in the humanities, the promotion of educational and research programs, as well as assistance in popularizing the museum's cultural and educational projects and exhibitions. Possible forms of interaction between cultural and educational institutions include joint scientific research, dissemination of their results, development and implementation of educational programs in the humanities, conducting joint seminars, conferences, round tables, as well as organizing and conducting student practices and internships. The agreement was signed by Anna Blyakhman, Director of HSE Nizhny Novgorod, and Ksenia Fedoseeva-Tsaritsyna, Director of the Russian Museum of Photography. It reinforces the already established practice of interaction between the museum and the university. "A decade of our partnership with the Russian Museum of Photography is a story of creating that very 'nurturing environment' where classical education meets history and art. We are convinced that the union of culture and science is the key to developing a harmonious, multifaceted personality. Our joint projects vividly confirm this: from the large-scale exhibition of the Volga Photographic Biennale, which brought together three thousand viewers within the walls of the 'higher school,' to the delicate research work of museum experts together with our students on the history of university buildings. Such cooperation allows students not only to study history and technology but also to learn to feel the world more deeply, turning the academic path into a cultural journey," noted Anna Blyakhman, Director of HSE Nizhny Novgorod. The first joint project under the agreement is a series of lectures by professors from the Higher School of Economics, which will take place at the museum's venue. The first speaker of the program was Maria Gelfond, a candidate of philological sciences and associate professor of the Department of Literature and Intercultural Communication at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. She spoke about how the emergence and development of photography were reflected in the poetry of the 19th-20th centuries. The next meeting of the series is scheduled for April 8 at 18:00. The lecture "The Photographer of the Silver Age: Between Literature and Photography (On the Experience of Leonid Andreev as a Photographer)" will be delivered by senior lecturer of the Department of Literature and Intercultural Communication, Alisa Mytareva. Meetings are also planned for May 13 and June 10. "The experience of inter-institutional cooperation is always very important. For the museum, it is an opportunity to expand our museum practices and strive to study, systematize, showcase, and rethink our collection, and for university staff and students, it is an opportunity to delve deeper into the processes occurring in the museum, work with collections, and gain new meanings, as well as a chance to have a new platform where they can feel like professionals. Now we will be able to expand our practices," said Ksenia Fedoseeva-Tsaritsyna, Director of the Russian Museum of Photography. In addition, cooperation will continue within the framework of the parallel program of the exhibition "Fusion. An Exhibition about Coincidences and Confluences," which will open on March 28 at the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum | Russian Art. Within the walls of HSE Nizhny Novgorod, on April 15 at 18:00, there will be a presentation of the literary-musical art composition "Singers of the Volga," where photographs from the collection of the Russian Museum of Photography depicting the Volga will also be showcased. It is worth noting that in January, agreements on cooperation were signed at the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum between the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Nizhny Novgorod campus of the Higher School of Economics, as well as between the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum and HSE Nizhny Novgorod. The result will be a long-term partnership aimed at developing initiatives in the fields of culture, enlightenment, science, education, and creative industries in the region.
