      The courts of two instances confirmed the legitimacy of the claims of the Interregional Office of Rosprirodnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia for the recovery of 780 thousand rubles from the administration of the city of Dzerzhinsk for damage caused to the soil. The unauthorized dump was identified in 2022 during an on-site inspection of the area. The total area of the contaminated territory exceeded 200 square meters. Specialists from Rosprirodnadzor calculated the damage caused to the soil and appealed to the court. The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region satisfied the claim. The defendant (the administration) attempted to challenge the decision in the First Arbitration Court of Appeal, but the appellate court found no grounds for this, and the court's decision came into legal force.
