At the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Experimental Oncology and Biomedical Technologies of PIMU, scientists supported the topic of breeding donor pigs for humans. This was reported in his Telegram channel by a representative of the Nizhny Novgorod medical community, Alexey Nikonov, citing TASS. The first genetically modified donor pig may appear by 2030. And in the first year, there will be an opportunity to obtain 200 pig kidneys for transplantation to humans. Pigs' livers, hearts, and stomachs will also be transplantable to humans. Nizhny Novgorod scientists believe that breeding such pigs will provide an additional chance for humans to obtain healthy donor organs, especially considering the low availability of organs for transplantation. It should be noted that chemists from Lobachevsky University have developed a unique synthesis method that makes anticancer drugs more effective. The technology allows for the incorporation of special enhancer fragments into the composition of the drugs, while the purity of the obtained substance exceeds 95% with a product yield of 90%.
