      On July 9, 2025, a project session was held at the A.D. Sakharov Academy "Mayak" as part of the implementation of the pilot project "Formation of an educational route system for children and youth with disabilities and limited health capabilities for obtaining higher education and further employment." The project started in 2024, and the Nizhny Novgorod region became one of six subjects of the Russian Federation where the project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is being implemented. Along with our region, the Vologda, Chelyabinsk, Rostov, Novosibirsk, and Sakhalin regions are participating in the project. The main goal of the project is to create a "seamless" model for children and people with disabilities from education to employment, providing them with a full range of opportunities for self-realization on the path to improving their quality of life.

      The Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Olga Petrova, joined the event online. She emphasized the importance of creating a "seamless" route for children and people with disabilities from education to employment in the pilot regions. "According to the decree of the President of Russia, every child in our country should receive the maximum opportunities to realize their talents. We are creating conditions so that children with health issues can receive quality education and find good jobs. The Nizhny Novgorod region has long been engaged in these issues and has good developments and practices in its arsenal. Today, it is important to build inter-agency communication routes so that work is carried out in full, so that children and their parents receive maximum information and opportunities – from education to employment," noted Olga Petrova.

      The project session was attended by the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Gneushev, the Minister of Education and Science of the region, Mikhail Puchkov, the Minister of Social Policy of the region, Igor Sedykh, the head of the Labor and Employment Department, Igor Pantyukhin, the head of the inter-agency working group of the project, Roman Ponomarenko, as well as heads of executive authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region and various educational and social institutions of the region.

      During the discussion, Andrey Gneushev noted that over the year of implementation of the project in the region, a number of methodological recommendations, algorithms, and templates have been developed and are ready for testing. "The ultimate result of the project should be guaranteed employment for people with limited health capabilities. To achieve this, we must establish clear, coordinated inter-agency interaction between government authorities and interested departments, involving potential employers and the non-profit sector. I am confident that our practices, developed in the region, will quickly show effective results and can be replicated," emphasized Andrey Gneushev.

      "Today, 19 educational organizations in the region are included in the pilot project – kindergartens, schools, vocational and higher education institutions. The task of these institutions is to support the child at every stage. Our project helps to systematically build this work, ensuring a 'seamless' movement along this trajectory to the employment stage," said Roman Ponomarenko.

      The second day of the event will continue with the activities of project teams, which will continue to develop specific proposals for forming an inclusive educational environment in the region.
