A resident of Nizhny Novgorod won a million in the New Year's lottery draw.
The director of a construction company from Nizhny Novgorod, Artem Tretyakov, became one of the millionaire winners of the main Russian Lotto draw — the "New Year's Billion." This was reported by the press service of Stoloto.
For the 1707th draw of Russian Lotto he bought an envelope with nine coupons, one of which won 1,000,000 rubles in the draw, while the remaining coupons brought an additional 1,180 rubles. The draw took place on January 1, 2026. According to Artem Tretyakov, in the holiday bustle he forgot about the coupons for the "New Year's Billion" and only checked them on Stoloto's website two days after the draw.
"I saw the amount and at first didn't realize that it was our win," the winner admitted.
Artem's wife works in landscape design. The couple enjoys active recreation, and they plan to use the winnings for a new family trip.
Earlier on pravda-nn.ru it was reported that in 2025 about 74 thousand residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region became winners in the National Lottery.
