Nizhny Novgorod doctors saved a construction worker who fell from the 32nd floor.

      A construction worker who fell from the 32nd floor of a building survived thanks to the efforts of doctors at the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital named after Semashko.

      As Alexey Nikonov, a representative of the regional health sector, wrote on his Telegram channel, the incident occurred on November 21, 2025, at a skyscraper construction site. The man fell to the 12th floor, having passed 20 levels in his fall.

      The patient sustained extremely severe injuries. Doctors describe his condition as "one continuous fracture": the facial bones, nose, ribs, both humeri, the ischium and the right tibia were damaged. The right lung was ruptured, and a mixture of air and blood was found in the pleural cavity.

      An ambulance crew brought the man to the hospital unconscious. He was taken urgently by a multidisciplinary team of doctors: a trauma specialist, a surgeon, a neurosurgeon and an anesthesiologist. In the anti-shock operating room, external fixation devices were applied to the patient, after which he was transferred to the trauma center's intensive care unit.

      Over the course of a month the patient underwent several osteosynthesis operations. Surgeons restored the displaced bone fragments, fixing them in anatomically correct positions.

      By the end of December 2025 the man was discharged home. His condition is described as satisfactory: his pain has decreased significantly, movement in his limbs is gradually recovering, and his overall well-being is improving.
