Driver assistance points opened on two Nizhny Novgorod highways.

      Due to worsening weather conditions and possible deterioration of road conditions, EMERCOM personnel have organized mobile assistance points on two major highways in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

      According to the regional EMERCOM directorate, one of the mobile life-support camps began operations at the 452-kilometer mark of the federal M-7 "Volga" highway, in the area of the settlement of Vetchak. The second point was deployed not far from the village of Zolotovo, on the R-159 highway in the Bor urban district.

      The mobile camps have all the necessary resources to provide emergency assistance to drivers and passengers who find themselves in difficulty due to the weather.

      The establishment of the posts was carried out by the specialized fire-rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast with the participation of the Volga Search and Rescue Detachment.

      Rescuers again remind motorists to exercise caution on the roads and choose a safe driving speed taking the weather into account.

      Earlier, EMERCOM warned drivers about severe black ice in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast on January 8 and 9. It was also reported that municipal services continue to clear snow in Nizhny Novgorod.
