New conditions for the granting of the old-age insurance pension will come into force in Russia from 2026, Associate Professor of the Department of International Business at the Financial University Zhanna Ivanovskaya said in a conversation with "Prime."
The insurance pension consists of two components — a fixed part and an individual part, the size of which depends on length of service and the number of accrued pension coefficients. To be eligible for such a pension, one must have at least 15 years of service and no fewer than 30 individual pension coefficients.
In the coming year, women born in 1967 will be able to claim the old-age insurance pension at age 59, and men born in 1962 at age 64. Moreover, the Social Fund of Russia will automatically grant old-age insurance pensions.
In 2026 the fixed part of the insurance pension will amount to 9,584 rubles. At the same time the value of one pension coefficient will increase from 145.69 to 156.76 rubles.
The expert noted that from January 1 pensions in the country were indexed: payments increased by 7.6% for both working and non-working pensioners. The average old-age pension, by preliminary estimates, will exceed 27,000 rubles per month. From April 1 social pensions and state pension provision payments will increase by 6.8%. These changes will affect, in particular, citizens honored with the "To the Resident of Besieged Leningrad" badge, as well as those affected by radiation accidents.
Fixed payments for pensioners over 80 and for persons with Group I disabilities will also increase; supplements for elderly people who care for incapacitated relatives, including full-time students up to 23 years old, will be maintained; pensions for military retirees will rise.
Earlier, the State Duma called for pensions to be indexed quarterly.
