      Most complaints were related to excessive alcohol consumption and overeating. 390 residents of Nizhny Novgorod sought medical help during the night from December 31 to January 1, the Telegram channel "Bokal presseka" reported. "In 49 cases the situation was resolved before the arrival of the ambulance crew, no assistance was required," the message says.

      Adults most often complained of gastrointestinal problems due to overeating and consumption of fatty foods. Ten city residents required help because of the large amount of alcohol consumed. Fifty Nizhny Novgorod residents experienced exacerbations of heart disease, including 4 cases of stroke.

      "74 patients were taken to on-duty hospitals for specialized care. Ambulances were most often called for children because of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI)," the message says.
