Marat Fathullin is leaving his post as head of Nizhny Novgorod’s Department of Digital Transformation. He announced this on social media.
The official noted that he will take a short break, after which he expects to return to creative work.
Fathullin entered municipal service in January 2019. At first he served as deputy head of the Department of Information-Technical Support and Communications. In August of the same year he took up the duties of head of the IT Development Department of the city administration (from 1 December 2020 — the Department of Digital Transformation).
Political journalist Andrey Vovk suggested that Fathullin’s deputy, Andrey Stolyarov, would become acting head of the department after Fathullin’s departure.
Earlier it was reported that Sergey Egorov, accused of taking a bribe, left his post as deputy mayor of Nizhny Novgorod.
