Andrey Checherin: the technical college's workshops meet the standards of "Professionalitet"
Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Checherin visited the Pavlovsky Automotive Mechanical Technical School named after I.I. Lepse and evaluated the work of the educational-production cluster in the "Mechanical Engineering" sector, created at the institution under the "Professionalitet" program at the start of the 2025–2026 academic year. Together with the deputy head of the region, the technical school was visited by the regional Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Puchkov and the head of local government of the Pavlovsky Municipal District Alexey Kirillov. As the regional government recalled, in January 2025 a delegation inspected the progress of construction work in the workshops. Today, the educational process is already in full swing in the new spaces.
"The new workshops of the Pavlovsky Automotive Mechanical Technical School comply with all the standards of the 'Professionalitet' program, which since 2025 has been part of the national project 'Youth and Children.' The equipment procured is intended for the long term: it corresponds to the equipment that the Pavlovsky Bus Plant — the anchor enterprise — already uses or plans to acquire in the future. It is pleasing that many students at the institution are studying under targeted contracts. These are young people who will be able to find employment at the enterprise and will develop our industry," said Andrey Checherin.
200 million rubles were directed to the creation of the workshops under the "Professionalitet" project, including 100 million from the federal budget and 69 million from the regional budget. In addition, the Pavlovsky Bus Plant invested 30 million rubles in the project. The Pavlovsky Automotive Mechanical Technical School allocated another 1 million rubles for these purposes.
Among the directions of educational programs prepared by the technical school's methodologists together with specialists from the partner enterprise are "Manufacturing Technology," "Mechatronics," "Welding Production," "CNC Machine Operator-Setter," "Welder," "Repair Technician for Construction Machinery," and "Electrician for Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment."
Second-year student Dmitry Lobanov — a future CNC machine operator at the Pavlovsky Bus Plant — spoke about the practical training at the college. "Thanks to the new educational program, practical classes for us began right in the first year of study. I am proud that my technical school has been so transformed with the help of 'Professionalitet'! Now we have the opportunity to obtain knowledge at an even higher level," he said.
Among the new spaces is the "Mechatronics" zone. It is equipped with five workstations — mechatronic stations designed for students to acquire practical skills in working with modern robotics. Another "Professionalitet" laboratory is a metal forming/pressworking area. Here students can apply theoretical knowledge in practice, study material properties and master technological processes. Both special educational-laboratory equipment and industrial machines are installed for training: tube bending, sheet bending and rolling machines.
"As with the entire system of secondary vocational education, we aim for constant improvement in the quality of staff training and the synchronization of efforts by the state, partner enterprises and the educational organization. The federal 'Professionalitet' program has made our programs practice-oriented so that students can fully study the entire technological production cycle and gain skills in production operations. This is done so that graduates transition seamlessly to work at the Pavlovsky Bus Plant," said Albina Ivanova, director of the Pavlovsky Automotive Mechanical Technical School named after I.I. Lepse.
Within the "Professionalitet" project, the technical school has also equipped a new laboratory for painting and heat treatment of parts. It includes five workstations equipped with modern robotic painting complexes. Students receive a unique opportunity to master practical skills working with such systems, further enhancing their training with augmented reality technology virtual simulators — VR painting simulators.
The new "Welding Technologies" laboratory, in turn, is designed for the simultaneous training of 21 students. It features five specialized zones for argon-arc welding, one operator station for an automated welding robot, five posts for ultrasonic flaw detection and ten stations for practicing semi-automatic welding.
Recall that the federal "Professionalitet" program is part of the national project "Youth and Children." The national project is being implemented in the country by order of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
