Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod forward Sergey Goncharuk commented on his future at the club. In an interview with NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" he shared his thoughts on a possible contract extension.

Recall that the forward's current agreement with Torpedo runs until 31 May 2026, and for now he is in no hurry to discuss further steps.

"I'm not thinking about that during the season. I have a contract until 31 May, and my task is to be useful to the team. Of course, being useful to the team also implies personal achievements, like goals, assists and everything else. If you try to work for the team, then the team will work for you — you'll score and set up goals. And when you think only about yourself, it usually doesn't lead to good things," Goncharuk noted.

At the same time, the hockey player does not rule out extending his contract with the club and is ready to stay in Nizhny Novgorod.

"Why not? I have started a family here. I really love this club, the people who come and cheer for us. The club has done a lot for me, and I also try to do as much for it as possible. Ideally — to bring the cup here. The city, the management, and all the people involved in hockey have deserved this cup a long time ago. We will do our best to make sure it ends up here. And I want to be here, with this team, when it happens," he added.

Earlier it was reported that Alexey Isakov's team were soundly defeated in a shutout by Neftekhimik.
