Children's and sports playgrounds in Kstovsky District and Arzamas have been added to the "Family Navigator" service.

December 29, 2025, 12:10 — The autonomous non-profit organization (ANO) "Institute for Demographic Development" has updated the interactive map of active recreation areas in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, posted on the official website in the "Our Products" section. The number of sites where families with children can spend time usefully and enjoyably has doubled — from 42 to 84.

Previously the service helped users easily navigate the play and sports infrastructure of Nizhny Novgorod. Now children's and sports playgrounds have been added to the map — 20 sites in the Kstovo District and 22 sites in Arzamas.

"Family Navigator" is intended to help parents and children start spending more time outdoors in safe, well-equipped places. The project was honored with an award from Europe's largest digital prize, the Tagline Awards, for its creative approach to communications that takes into account the interests of the public.

The map can be used offline after downloading it in PDF format. This is especially useful for planned trips out of town or in areas with a weak network signal.

For easier searching, the online version of the service is equipped with filters by type of site (children's/sports), city and district, users' age, equipment (swings, pull-up bars, pump track, etc.), and hours of operation. Location cards include photos of the sites and a route-building function to the selected point — on foot or by vehicle.

"New settlements on our map are only the first step. We are steadily expanding the project so that every family can, without extra effort, find a nearby place for active recreation: a sports area or a children's playground. In this way we contribute to strengthening family traditions, foster a culture of shared leisure, and increase people's commitment to a healthy lifestyle," said Yevgeny Zhuravlev, director of the Institute for Demographic Development.

It should be recalled that work to stabilize the demographic situation in the region is being carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives of the new national project "Family." By decision of Governor Gleb Nikitin, the period from 2025 to 2030 has been declared the Five-Year Family Period in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
