On the morning of December 28, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the federal M-7 "Moscow–Ufa" highway in the Dzerzhinsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

According to the regional State Traffic Inspectorate’s press service, a 71-year-old Ford driver was exiting an adjacent area onto the main road but ignored traffic signs — "Yield" and "Turn right only."

The driver attempted to make a left turn, resulting in a collision with a Scania truck with a semi-trailer. The truck was driven by a 52-year-old man who was traveling toward Nizhny Novgorod from Moscow.

Both vehicles sustained severe mechanical damage. The car driver suffered serious injuries and died in the ambulance en route to the hospital.

All circumstances and causes of the incident are being established.

Last weekend, on another stretch of the M-7 highway in the Volodarsky District, a crash involving two cars and a truck occurred, in which four people were killed.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the Gorodetsky District, Alexander Mudrov, was involved in an accident.
