      As the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported, taking into account the position of the prosecutor’s office of the Leninsky District of Ufa, the court ordered that the 23-year-old resident of Novosibirsk be held in custody until February 17, 2026.

      According to the investigation, a 66-year-old resident of Neftekamsk became a victim of telephone scammers who told him that he was financing illegal activities and that, to preserve the funds, they needed to be handed over to a courier.

      The accused on October 10, 2025, twice came to the home of the elderly man who had been misled and took from him 12.5 million rubles. The funds in question were received by the victim as payments for his son, who died while carrying out combat missions in the area of the special military operation.

      A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale).

      The progress of the investigation is under the supervision of the oversight authority.
