      A senior ship mechanic from Nizhny Novgorod has recovered more than 885,000 rubles from a foreign shipping company through the courts, the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office reports.

      A prosecutorial inspection was initiated after the Nizhny Novgorod resident filed a complaint; he had worked on a foreign vessel in 2024. When he resigned voluntarily, the company did not pay him the payments owed.

      Defending the seaman's labor rights, the transport prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the Avtozavodsky District Court of Tolyatti. The court fully granted the claim, ordering the foreign carrier to pay not only the outstanding wages but also compensation for their untimely payment.
