Grant awards, a strategic session with scientists, an open meeting of the Council of Young Scientists, as well as a meeting of the scientific community with the Deputy Chair of the regional government, Ekaterina Solntseva, took place as part of the regional forum "Scientific Antifragility" at the Mayak cultural and educational center in Nizhny Novgorod. The event brought together more than 200 young researchers to discuss strategic directions for the development of science and technology.
"Today our region, as well as the whole country, faces an ambitious task — to become a global technological leader. The region must become a territory where advanced technologies are not only developed but also implemented in everyday life. The Nizhny Novgorod region has already confidently risen to fourth place in the National Scientific and Technological Development Ranking. This is our shared victory, and I thank Nizhny Novgorod scientists for their work and boldness of thought," noted Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
At the meeting with Ekaterina Solntseva, members of the scientific community were able to get answers to key questions related to the region's priorities, support for young scientists, their role in the strategic development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the opportunities for implementing innovations in the real sector of the economy.
"Our region has much to offer in response to the challenges of the modern era — we have strong scientific schools. And I would especially like to note that behind any development there are always people. It is thanks to our scientists, their courage and willingness to move forward toward their dreams, that it becomes possible to implement impressive projects of technological leadership," shared Deputy Chair of the regional government Ekaterina Solntseva.
The central event of the forum was the ceremony for awarding grants of up to 1 million rubles from the regional government. Awards were given to 22 winners of competitive selections for grants to support young scientists and in the fields of science, technology and engineering, who presented their developments in medicine, physics, thermal power engineering and other areas.
A strategic session with young scientists also took place as part of the forum. Based on its results, recommendations will be formed aimed at strengthening grant support and shaping a new agenda for the Council of Young Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, which will consolidate the expert role of the scientific community in the region's development.
