The detention of Nizhny Novgorod’s deputy mayor Sergey Yegorov has been extended by 72 hours, reports Kommersant-Privolzhye.
It was expected that the official, suspected of receiving a large bribe, would be charged and a preventive measure chosen on December 3. However, this did not happen.
The Moskovsky District Court deemed it necessary to extend the detention.
At the same time, investigators are asking the court to place Yegorov under house arrest. The request will be considered on December 5.
