The Balakhna City Court fined a local resident under the article on evading conscription for compulsory military service. This was reported by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
The man had been evading conscription for a long time. The Balakhna resident filed lawsuits challenging the draft commission's decisions and failed to appear at the military enlistment office without a valid reason.
He now has to pay 60,000 rubles. The court's decision is not yet in force. Recall that the autumn draft plan in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has been fulfilled by more than 70%. In total, more than 2,200 Nizhny Novgorod residents are planned to be sent to conscript service.
