The Nizhny Novgorod district court declared invalid the order introducing a state of emergency in relation to the vacated wooden house No. 35 on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street. This is stated in materials published in the court case file.
Previously the building, which belonged to former deputy mayor and entrepreneur Dmitry Dzepe, had been included in the list of properties subject to requisition. Nizhny Novgorod authorities planned to use the plot for their needs, but were unable to reach an agreement with the owner on purchasing it.
The court ordered an expert examination, which found that the house, located behind fencing and not being used for its intended purpose, does not pose a threat to the life and health of the city's residents. On the basis of this conclusion, the decision to introduce a state of emergency was declared unlawful.
At the end of November it became known that Dzepe's detention had been extended until 13 February 2026.
Earlier it was reported that a special regime had been introduced around the construction of a cable car across the Oka in Nizhny Novgorod.
