He is suspected of giving a bribe to an official through an intermediary in an especially large amount. The actions have been qualified under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.

Investigators established that from September 2024 to February 2025 the accused handed over 2.5 million rubles to an employee of a state institution responsible for examining project documentation and engineering surveys. The money was intended for expedited review of a highway construction project.

The illegal scheme was uncovered by the investigative department for the Nizhny Novgorod district of the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Officers of the regional branch of the Federal Security Service (FSB) also took part in uncovering the crime.

The court ordered that the suspect be held in custody.

The Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Directorate added that necessary investigative actions and operational-search measures are currently being carried out to collect and secure evidence in the case.

The bribery case is also being investigated in relation to former GUMMiD head Andrey Levdikov, who resigned in May 2025. A court extended his pre-trial detention until December 15, 2025.
