      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 387 corruption crimes were registered in the first 10 months of 2025. This is 0.8% more than in the same period last year, according to statistics from the regional directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

      At the same time, the number of serious and particularly serious corruption crimes increased significantly — from 225 to 309, a rise of 37.3%.

      Meanwhile, the total number of offenses infringing on the interests of state authorities, the civil service and local self-government bodies slightly decreased. In 2025, 367 such acts were recorded.

      Bribery remains the most common type of corruption crime. A total of 234 such crimes were recorded.

      Interestingly, the number of instances of receiving a bribe increased by 18.6% from 59 to 70, while cases of giving a bribe decreased by 14.9% — to 74.

      It was previously reported that from January 1, 2026, Nizhny Novgorod officials will be rewarded for reporting attempts to induce them to engage in corruption.
