      The deputy director of the State Public Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Center for Medical Inspection" was detained on bribery charges, the press service of the FSB of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

      According to law enforcement, the official received at least 4 million rubles for winning a tender and subsequently signing contracts with certain firms for the supply and repair of medical equipment.

      The Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

      Law enforcement officers are identifying possible accomplices of the suspect, as well as other related incidents.

      Earlier it was reported that an auditor and four employees of the Nizhny Novgorod Accounts Chamber will be prosecuted for taking bribes.
