      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, a 58-year-old resident of Kstovo is accused of killing his own mother. A criminal case has been opened against him under the article on intentional deprivation of life. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. On November 23 the man was in an apartment in a building on Grazhdanskaya Street in Kstovo with his 86-year-old mother. A quarrel broke out between them, during which the son, it is alleged, strangled the pensioner, and she died at the scene.

      After the incident the suspect was detained by law enforcement officers. The court will soon consider which preventive measure to impose on him.

      Investigative authorities are continuing work on the case. Necessary examinations are being carried out, witnesses are being questioned, details of the conflict are being clarified, and evidence is being gathered to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.
