Parents of students in the Nizhny Novgorod region have expressed dissatisfaction with the mandatory switch to the MAX messenger. As "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Nizhny Novgorod" reports, schools are requiring the installation of the application; otherwise, according to parents, it will become impossible to receive important information about the educational process.
The region's Ministry of Education and Science commented on the situation. The department explained that, in accordance with Order No. 316-01-63-1619/25 dated 31 July 2025, educational organizations were recommended to move thematic chats to the national messenger MAX.
The Nizhny Novgorod education ministry also emphasized that the use of other messengers for educational purposes is not currently being considered.
According to the department, the MAX platform is a modern Russian development created with regard to legal requirements and user needs. The application provides protection of personal data, confidentiality of communication, and integration with government digital services.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education announced the full integration of the "Sferum" service into the MAX messenger.
In July 2025 it became known that all Nizhny Novgorod schools had been moved to MAX.
