Yevgeny Lyulin: "Second place is not an option for us. We'll fight for the lead!"

      At a board meeting of FC Khimik, the results of the past season were summed up, which was recognized as the best in the club's history despite finishing in second place. On the subject, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and president of FC Khimik, Evgeny Lyulin, published an extended comment on his MAX channel.

      “At the board meeting of FC Khimik we discussed the season's results. The overall conclusion: 2nd place is not ours. We will fight for leadership!” Evgeny Lyulin stated the club's position on his MAX channel.

      “I believe the past season was the best. The play was attacking and spectacular. The team literally made fans fall in love with them, who came to the games with their whole families. Match attendance increased by 40%! We were confidently heading for first place in the group and lost by only one point to Perm's Amkar,” noted the speaker of the regional parliament.

      “Even our opponents say that Khimik this year played better than in the 'Silver' league. Judge for yourselves. The season's top scorer — Ilya Yurchenko — is with us! He scored twenty goals! Our player Daniil Plotnikov received a call-up to the national team. We gave a chance to two 15-year-old talents and were not mistaken. Semyon Kudryashov and Denis Rogov are progressing quickly. The team put together 13 unbeaten matches in a row! That has never happened before,” said the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly.

      “We looked into why we stumbled at the end of the season. We concluded that psychology was to blame. We calmed down and relaxed, deciding that a six-point lead would guarantee victory. After all, we managed to pull ourselves together in the final round and played as we should. However, Amkar was luckier,” noted Evgeny Lyulin.

      “That's the beauty of football: no result is guaranteed to anyone. Next year we'll work on our mistakes and achieve the goal we've set,” Evgeny Lyulin summed up.
