Society — The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reminded parents of the importance of teaching children safety rules when they find forgotten or unattended items.
A toy, a phone, a box of chocolates or even an ordinary bag — all of these can pose a threat. Especially if the item is left in a crowded place: near a school, on a playground, in transport or in a shopping center.
Investigators remind: it is important that children know simple safety rules:
- do not pick up unfamiliar objects from the ground;
- do not take into your hands items left behind in transport, on the street, in shops, on benches and in other public places.
Any objects can be dangerous: money, bags, boxes, phones, flash drives, toys, bottles with liquid, candies, matchboxes, etc.
If a child notices a suspicious item, they should immediately move to a safe distance and inform an adult — teachers, school security, the transport driver or staff of the administrative institution. After that they should call the emergency services: 101, 102 or 112.
The Investigative Directorate appeals to all parents to be vigilant and to take safety issues seriously. Knowing simple rules will help a child act confidently in an unusual situation and protect themselves.
Earlier Nizhny Novgorod residents were reminded how to act in the event of a UAV attack.
