A criminal case has been opened in Dzerzhinsk over an attempted murder: a 52-year-old local resident is suspected of attacking his 50-year-old acquaintance.
According to the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the incident occurred on 16 November in one of the apartments in a building on Vatutin Street.
A conflict erupted between the men, during which the suspect grabbed a knife and inflicted several blows to the victim’s chest and neck.
The victim was urgently hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Doctors are fighting for his life.
Investigators are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident, as well as the motives that may have prompted the suspect to attempt murder.
As the agency specified, the suspect was detained. By court decision he has been placed in custody.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, took an interest in the circumstances of the death of a girl in a Nizhny Novgorod forest.
